EXTRACTIONS
All simple and surgical extractions, complex wisdom teeth referred to oral surgeon.
ROOT CANAL
This is a procedure that is done to save the tooth i.e. retain the tooth in the mouth. It involves accessing the nerve of the tooth and removing the nerve tissue from inside the root. This procedure is done when there is extensive decay that extends into the nerve.
FILLINGS
Fillings are placed in teeth when decay is detected and needs to be removed. We use composite resins almost exclusively. These are tooth-colored restorations. In rare instances silver or amalgam restorations are required.
Dental Crowns
CROWNS
Crowns, or “caps”, are restorations that are cemented onto the tooth. They are placed after a tooth has had a root canal or when there is insufficient tooth structure to support a filling.
BRIDGES
Bridges replace missing teeth. They are similar to crowns in that they are cemented onto teeth adjacent to the space with the missing tooth incorporated into the restoration
DENTURES / PARTIALS
Dentures and partials also replace missing teeth, but they are removable and not cemented. Full dentures are fabricated when a person is missing all their teeth. Partial dentures are used when some teeth remain.
FLIPPERS
Flippers are removable appliances that replace one to two anterior teeth. They are generally used as a temporary fix for a missing tooth. They are used primarily for aesthetics until a more permanent solution is completed.
OCCLUSAL SPLINTS
Occlusal splints or guards are fabricated to reduce the signs and symptoms of grinding and clenching. An impression is taken and sent to a lab. At the delivery appointment, the splint is equilibrated to eliminate interferences during grinding.
HYGIENE
Regular hygiene appointments are critical for optimal oral health. We perform all facets of periodontal therapy from bi-yearly cleanings to scaling and root planing. Scaling and root planing is performed when periodontal disease is present. Signs of this are swollen and bleeding gums, loose teeth, and gum recession which can make the teeth appear longer.
VENEER
Veneers are thin shells of dental ceramic that are bonded to the front side of teeth. Minimal tooth preparation is required. They are primarily placed to eliminate gaps, improve tooth color, and restore malformed or chipped teeth.
We look forward to working with you to achieve your dental goals!
